How to choose a scarf？

In spring and autumn, when the weather is cooler, cotton fabrics are preferred, and fabrics such as modal and acrylic are also good. In the hot summer, scarves made of silk or hemp fabrics are more suitable, because these fabrics have better air permeability. In winter, warm fabrics such as wool or cashmere are mainly used.

Digital Print

Digital printing is a modern production method that refers to the process of printing digital-based images directly onto various media, creating your artwork on a computer.

Advantage

• High quality, the color pattern is perfectly printed on the piece, no problem with thick lines.

• Timeliness, with fewer steps in the printing process, the final product can be delivered faster.

• Digital printing offers the most affordable solution for customization etc.

Disadvantage

• There will be color cast, and the color compatibility needs to be improved.

Double-Sides Digital Print

Double-sided digital printing is a new technology printing that solves the color problem of the back of ordinary digitally printed silk fabrics.

Advantages

• Double-sided digital printing perfectly solves the problem of ink penetration

• Both sides can have the same pattern or different patterns, two fabrics in one.

Disadvantage

• Its disadvantage is that the production time is longer and the price is higher than ordinary digital printing.

• Double-sided printing requires the use of thick fabrics.Thin fabrics, such as polyester, viscose and other fabrics are not suitable for double-sided printing.

Screen Print

Screen printing involves pressing paint through a printing screen (made of a steel frame and nylon mesh) to print.

Advantages

• Amazing image reproduction

• Great for sharp edges and solid color blocks

• If you want to make simple and high-volume printing, screen printing will be an ideal choice.

Disadvantages

• One color per screen – not suitable for multi-color designs

• Not suitable for photos/color gradients

• Accurate reproduction of shadows, tonal transitions and details is not its strong suit

  
  

What are the best fabric type for scarf manufacturing?

For custom printed scarves, if you prefer a more matte fabric, we recommend our crepe de chine or silk twill. We say to opt for twill if you like a more textural or prominent weave.

If you prefer something that has more of a sheen, we recommend our crepe back satin.

If your print design features borders, we advise opting for a CDC or twill. The straight warp and weft properties of these fabrics allow us to manufacture perfectly straight scarves. With bordered artworks, the border is essentially acting as a ruler. So, any deviation in the cloth means that it will be very visible once cut and hemmed.

If you are perhaps after something softer, our cashmere modal works well for larger scarves.

Advantages and disadvantages of scarf fabric

1. The wool fabric is comfortable and warm, and the elasticity is also very good. The scarf is easy to recover after deformation, but the phenomenon of hair loss is inevitable. 2. Wearing a cotton scarf is also very comfortable and has a good thermal effect, but it is not resistant to wear and tear. The scarf is easy to leave wrinkles, and dark-colored cotton scarves are easy to fade. 3. Hemp fabrics are more breathable but not very elastic and lack skin-friendly. 4. The biggest advantage of silk scarves is that they are beautiful and smooth, but silk fabrics generally shrink. 5. What is your minimum order quantity for scarf manufacturing?

For our bespoke scarf manufacturing service, we have a MOQ of 20 units for one design and you can include a mixture of sizes, print designs, and artworks within this quantity.

What is your lead-time for scarf manufacturing?

We pride ourselves on our fast turnaround, from the day that everything is approved and ready to go, we will need around 4 weeks. This is the time we require to prepare the fabric type, print the fabric, cut, hem, and then send it to you. This turnaround time will vary on the size of the order, but it should never exceed 4-5 weeks.

What is the 10% fault rate for scarf orders?

Our 10% fault rate is applied to any scarf order that has panelled artworks as opposed to repeating artworks. If a fault occurs on a panel, the whole panel has to be discarded and reprinted or redone. Unlike a repeat print, where if a small fault occurs it can simply be cut around. Therefore, we will always print 10% over to cover the cost of any potential faults or marks that may arise. If your run is 100% successful, you will receive all of the extra printed panels or finished units.

What seam allowance should I leave if printing panels?

We advise you to add a 1.5cm seam allowance to each edge, so 90cm x 90cm would then become a 93cm x 93cm panel. This will ensure the scarves measure full size at 90cm x 90cm once finished.
