Is it 100% silk?

As far as I can tell, yes. I have several. Some, though, are a rougher crinkly texture and some are traditionally smooth and watery. All of them are wonderful! (There are usually close-up pictures included. Look carefully and you can see if it's crinkly or smooth...) By Ellen B. on August 1, 2022

Can it be turned into a tallit?

I know this answer is probably too late for OP, but in case anyone else wonders--these shawls are made of a very SHEER silk chiffon--you might consider Dana Xu's wool shawls instead which are made from a lightweight wool that drapes very nicely. It is also a very LARGE scarf--check the dimensions and illustrations to see if this is even a size you would want. As for the "fringe", tzitzits can be purchased separately, or even handmade if you are particularly patient and good at knotting. see less By T. Is the fabric transparent and slippery?

It is transparent if you hold it up to the light. It is more like chiffon fabric only softer and stronger. It is not slippery like satin. I received a very light yellow print and you can see dark colors underneath. By Leslie on June 13, 2022

Hi dear friend, thank you so much for your question. Our all scarfs for women are 100% silk, which contains high protein, just like our hair, so the washing way can follow the hair washing.

(1) If not dirty, please just hang up for air, but not wash.

(2) If some dirty, just wash by hand below 30 ℃ water with neutral detergent ,shampoo is also good choice.

(3) If with stain, dry cleaning is preferable, because it is easy to remove the stain. Kindly reminder: It will keep new and smooth and bright colors after ironing with low heat; please do not bleach and wring.
