Our environmental impact through reactive printing

It’s no secret that the fashion industry, very closely linked to the textile industry, is considered one of the dirtiest industries currently in the game. Here at Dana Fabrics we don’t want to play that game, so we’ve implemented a few systems in order to reduce our environmental impact. These systems include the obvious but incredibly impactful practice of printing on demand, which means we only print exactly what’s ordered, when it’s ordered, reducing overproduction and therefore potential for waste. Any textile waste that is produced is repurposed as much as possible - into rags and other fabric goods for around the factory. We were also very intentional about purchasing machines that have integrated sustainable systems, such as reduced water and energy use. All of our fabrics are OKEO-TEX certified - you can find the certifications on our fabric landing pages - and our dyes are all BLUESIGN and GOTS approved. Our sustainability goal was to develop the habit of integrating environmentally friendly practices, both simple and complex, right from the beginning.

Color on the back side of our scarf will be nearly as rich as the color on the front.

The wool material we use for our scarves and bandanas is soft yet durable and colorfast no matter what type of artwork you provide. Our scarves are machine washable so you can keep them clean and reuse them daily.

What are the best fabric type for scarf manufacturing?

For custom printed scarves, if you prefer a more matte fabric, we recommend our crepe de chine or silk twill. We say to opt for twill if you like a more textural or prominent weave.

If you prefer something that has more of a sheen, we recommend our crepe back satin.

If your print design features borders, we advise opting for a CDC or twill. The straight warp and weft properties of these fabrics allow us to manufacture perfectly straight scarves. With bordered artworks, the border is essentially acting as a ruler. So, any deviation in the cloth means that it will be very visible once cut and hemmed.

If you are perhaps after something softer, our cashmere modal works well for larger scarves.

Starting from plain silk fabrics, we expand product range to printed silk fabrics and scarves. Silk satin, silk charmeuse, silk crepe de chine, silk haotai and silk georgette as well as other regular silk fabrics are all within our production line.
