Tencel fabric characteristics

Aug 15, 2022

Tencel fabric has good hygroscopicity, comfort, drape and stiffness, and good dyeability. In addition, it can be blended with cotton, wool, linen, nitrile, polyester, etc. It can be ring-spun, air-jet, core-spun, Spun into various cotton and wool yarns, core yarns, etc.

Tencel fabric was developed by the British company Acordis through ten years and was not completed in commercial applications until the 1990s. It is the most typical green fiber. In May 2004, after the merger of Lanjing Company, the production was unified. The environmental characteristics of tencel fabric: raw materials come from wood, which can be continuously and naturally regenerated, and the wood is made into wood pulp.

Tencel fabric uses a spinning process to dissolve wood pulp in ammonium oxide solvent and directly spin it. It is completely completed under physical action. The ammonium oxide solvent is recycled and the recovery rate is more than 99%. Can be biochemically degraded without causing pollution to the environment. Therefore, it is called "green fiber in the 21st century" and obtained the international green environmental protection certificate.
